Evangel hosts Williams Woods in home opener: The Evangel women’s basketball team hosts 23rd ranked William Woods in their first home game of 2012-13. The Crusaders are 0-3 having played their first three games on the road with losses at defending NAIA-I National Champion Oklahoma City, Auburn-Montgomery and 9th ranked Lee (Tenn.).

Evangel will play their third ranked opponent in four games as they take on William Woods Friday.

The Owls are 3-0 having defeated Heart of America conference opponent Avila on Tuesday, 63-49. In addition to their three wins, William Woods also has an exhibition win over NCAA-II opponent Lincoln (Mo.) 82-69 on Saturday.

William Woods went 23-10 last year, won the American Midwest Conference tournament title and lost in the opening round of the NAIA-I National Tournament to #8 Shawnee St. (Ohio) 67-48.
