Men's basketball now ranked 19th in NAIA-I

Springfield, Mo. – The Evangel University men’s basketball is ranked 19th in this week’s NAIA-I national poll.

Evangel had a five-game winning streak snapped at MidAmerica Nazarene last week falling 78-64 but bounced back for a home win against Peru State 69-52. The Crusaders are now 14-5 and 7-2 in the Heart of America conference. They dropped from 11th nationally to #19.

MidAmerica Nazarene rose from #25 to #17 in this week’s poll and is the highest ranked team in the HAAC. After their win over Evangel, the Pioneers lost at Culver-Stockton 89-88 on Saturday putting Evangel and MidAmerica Nazarene back in a first place tie in the league standings.

The Crusaders play again on Thursday at Central Methodist. Tipoff is 7:30 p.m. in Fayette, Missouri.
