Men's basketball shuts down Missouri Valley for 68-44 win

Springfield, Mo. – Evangel held Missouri Valley went on a 23-3 run midway through the second half on their way to a 68-44 win at the Ashcroft Center.

Evangel had a 32-27 lead at halftime then held the Vikings to 23 percent shooting in the second half as the Vikings went 7 for 30 from the field and 0 for 8 from three-point range in the half.

Victor Agbasi had his first career double-double in college scoring 16 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Zack Kleine added 10 points for Evangel as the Crusaders won their fifth straight game.

Law Brown led Missouri Valley with 11 points.

Evangel improved to 18-5 and 11-2 in the Heart of America conference while Missouri Valley dropped to 9-16 and 4-9 in the league.

The Crusaders are at Graceland for their next game. Tipoff is at 4 p.m. Saturday in Lamoni, Iowa.
