Springfield, Mo. – Evangel won a game one Saturday matchup with a 9-2  victory against Central Christian (Kan.).  Blake McKnight worked five perfect innings striking out 7 on 61 pitches before giving way to Nathan Huckaby.  Darin francis broke the game open early with a first inning grand slam over the left center fence giving the Crusaders the lead 5-0.  Jeff Cullen went 4-4 on the day with a double and 3RBI and Nathan Jones went 3-4 with a triple.

Springfield, Mo. – Evangel dropped their first game of the season 2-0 to visiting Central Christian (Kan.) in the second game of a Saturday doubleheader at Evangel.   Matt Myers was the hard luck pitcher for Evangel giving up 2 runs, 1 earned run and five hits over seven innings of work.  The Crusaders offense managed only 5 hits over seven innings. Jeff Cullen and Christian Maciel both went 2-3 at the plate for Evangel.

Evangel hosts Harris Stowe State with doubleheader on Tuesady at the Crusaders Baseball Complex. Tuesday’s DH starts at noon.
