Game Summary

Lamoni, Iowa – Evangel shot 59 percent from the floor and pulled away from Graceland in the second half for an 84-70 win on the road Saturday.

The Crusaders made 27 of their 46 shot attempts and connected on 10 of 19 three-point tries. Jamye Donnelly led Evangel with 23 points hitting 8 of 11 shots including 5 of his 8 three-pointers. The 23 points is a career high for the senior from Linn, Mo.

Zack Kleine added 17 points while Stephen Cotten had 10 points and 8 rebounds.

Austin Lilley led the Yellowjackets with 14 points.

The win was Evangel’s sixth straight victory and their 10th win in 11 games. They improved their record to 19-5 and 12-2 in the Heart of America conference. Graceland dropped to 6-20 and 3-12.

Evangel is on the road again Thursday when they play at Avila. Tipoff is at 7:30 p.m. in Kansas City.
