Evangel at Avila: Evangel takes on Avila in Kansas City Thursday for a key Heart of America conference game.

Evangel is 6-13, 5-8 in the conference and is in 7th place in the league. The Crusaders have won back-to-back games with wins last week against Missouri Valley 68-54 and at Graceland on Saturday 53-52. Evangel is looking for their first three-game winning streak of the season.

Avila enters Thursday’s game in a tie for 8th place in the league standings with Missouri Valley. The Eagles are 5-17 and 4-10 in the conference. Avila has lost two straight and seven of their last eight games.

The Eagles won the earlier meeting this season with a 64-58 win in the Ashcroft Center on Jan. 10. Avila won both games in the season series last year but Evangel leads the all-time series 32-14.
