Muskogee, Okla. — Evangel won their season opener softball game with a game one win over Bacone (Okla.) 6-0. Starter Lenzie Boring fired a two-hit shutout giving up only one walk with 10 strikeouts. SS Marriana Nelson went 3 for 3 with a double while OF Kari Tall-Domingos drove in two runs while going 1 for 4 with a double.

Muskogee, Okla. — A three-run fifth inning powered Evangel past Bacone (Okla.) in game two of the doubleheader and helped the Crusaders to a sweep with a 4-1 win. Katie Tollefson went 3 for 4 with a triple and two RBIs while Marriana Nelson and Lauren Bunch both went 2 for 3 at the plate. Lebanon native Brooke Brenton picked up the win in first start as a Crusader.

Evangel plays again this Friday in Batesville, Ark. in the Lyon (Ark.) tournament.
