Crusaders open HAAC tournament at Benedictine: Evangel opens the Heart of America conference tournament with a quarterfinals game at Benedictine.

The Crusaders are seeded 7th with a 7-17 overall record and a 6-12 mark in the conference. Evangel enters the postseason having lost four straight. Monday, they ended the regular season with a 63-52 loss at home to 9th ranked MidAmerica Nazarene.

Benedictine is seeded second in the league. They finished one game behind first place MidAmerica Nazarene with a 16-2 conference record and they are 26-4 overall. The Ravens are ranked 12th nationally in NAIA-I.

The Ravens swept the season series against Evangel having won 64-52 in Atchison on Dec. 1 and 72-41 at Evangel on Jan. 26.

The Crusaders have not won a conference tournament game since 2010 but own a 30-12 all-time record in the HAAC tournament and have won it seven times.
