Winter Haven, Fla. – Evangel split a doubleheader with sixth ranked Point Park (Pa.) Tuesday losing game one 9-5 and winning game two 2-1 in 8 innings in Winter Haven, Florida.
The Crusaders lost the first game after Point Park posted 8 runs in the fifth inning. Jacob Childers went 2 for 2 hitting a double and his first home run of the year while driving in two runs.
Evangel won the second game 2-1 in 8 innings. Crusaders starter Blake McKnight worked all 8 innings allowing 4 hits and 1 unearned run with 2 walks and 7 strikeouts. Wes Clay went 3 for 4 while Michael Headlee went 2 for 3 with an RBI.
Evangel returns home and will host Hannibal-LaGrange March 12 in a doubleheader.
