Fort Worth, Texas - The Crusaders took their first loss of the 2013 season on Thursady in the first game of a doubleheader at Texas Wesleyan 4-0. The loss was the first for Evangel and senior pitcher Lenzie Boring whom allowed 4 runs on 4 hits through 6 innings of work. Evangel took game two 2-1 on a two run home run in the top of the sixth by Shelby Hoffman. Junior pitcher Brooke Brenton kept her record perfact (5-0) allowing 4 hits over 7 innings and allowing only one unearned run in the bottom of the seventh.
The Crusaders will be in action again on Thursady March 14th as they host Lyon (Ark.) in a doubleheader. Game time in 12:00pm.
