Canton, Mo. – Evangel split a doubleheader with Culver-Stockton Tuesday in a doubleheader in Canton, Mo.
 
Culver-Stockton shut out Evangel in the first game winning 1-0. The Wildcats scored the game’s only run on a sacrifice fly in the first inning. Brock Kartheiser then held Evangel to just three hits while striking out six on the way to the win. Evangel starter Koby Gaddis did not allow an earned run but took the loss surrendering just two hits and two walks with four strikeouts.
 
Evangel won the second game 3-1. Sam Garrison got the win pitching a complete game allowing seven hits and one unearned run with two walks and a strikeouts. Evangel pitching did not allow an earned run in either game against the Wildcats. Nate Jones went 3 for 3 and had a walk in the game. The Crusaders scored two runs in the third to take a 3-0 lead. Evangel got a bases loaded walk to Jake Garrison and an RBI ground ball from Jeff Cullen.
 
Evangel goes to Missouri Valley for a four-game series with doubleheaders Friday and Saturday in Marshall, Mo.
