Springfield, Mo. – Evangel finished the regular season with a home sweep over Missouri Valley winning game one 7-0 and game two 7-2.

Evangel starting pitcher Lenzie Boring carried a no-hitter into the seventh inning before allowing a lead-off hit in the inning. The senior completed the one-hit shutout allowing no walks and striking out 12. The Crusaders got a first inning home run from Marriana Nelson and a two-run homer by Lauren Bunch-Bright who finished the game 2 for 3 at the plate.

Bunch-Bright homered in the second half of the doubleheader and Brittany Arnold went 2 for 3 at the plate with a double and 2 RBIs as the Crusaders won 7-2. Evangel starter Brooke Brenton allowed just one earned run going 6 innings and improving her record to 10-6.

Evangel finishes the regular season in fourth place in the Heart of America conference going 28-12 and 11-7 in the league. They will play fifth seeded Peru State on Friday in the opening round the HAAC tournament in Overland Park, Kan. at 1 p.m. in the eight-team, double-elimination tournament.
