Amy Grossklag named NAIA women's tennis All-American

Springfield, Mo. – Evangel women’s tennis player Amy Grossklag was named a First Team NAIA All-American.

The sophomore from Bonita Springs, Florida went 14-1 in singles play with her only loss coming in the NAIA National Championship Tournament. She and doubles partner Ali Sivinski went 14-1 during the season and won their match-up in the national tournament.

Grossklag was one of just four underclassmen on the 16 player First Team list and just one of three American born players on the First Team.

Earlier this year, Grossklag was named Player of the Year in the American Midwest / Heart of America / TranSouth conference group and helped her team to an 11-4 record and an NAIA National Tournament bid. She advanced to the NAIA/ITA individual championships last fall finishing fourth nationally while she and doubles partner Jenna Elliott went 2-1 at the same event winning the consolation bracket.

Grossklag was honored as an honorable mention All-American selection last year in the NAIA.
