Softball

Since Head Coach Jerry Breaux took over the program in 1994, the Evangel softball team has:

  • won ten Heart of America Athletic Conference championships (HAAC), winning six of those titles in a row
  • registered 17 seasons with 20 or more wins
  • Nationally ranked every year
  • had ten campaigns with 30 or more victories
  • 2005 squad won a school record 44 games
  • had Thirteen all-America selections
  • had 122 athletes win all-conference laurels
  • had 50 1st team all-conference selections

Coach Breaux:

  • won six conference coach-of-the-year honors
  • won NAIA Midwest Region Coach of the year in 1997
  • won 883 games in his career, placing him in the NFCA's Easton Victory Club for those with 800-plus career wins
  • has a 560-342-2 record at Evangel
  • Reached 500 wins as Evangel softball coach on March 4, 2011 with 6-3 victory over Bellevue University
