Personal Information: My wife is Pam Smallwood--EU Housing Director. I have three sons, Zach, Josh, and Steven. Zach is a '05 Evangel grad (English Lit.) and a '10 master's grad (English Education)--He and his wife, Melissa (and my granddaughter, Mabel) live here is Springfield--he's an avid gardener, wonderful cook, and he is the chef for our family food truck (The Wheelhouse). Steven is an Evangel '10 EU graduate (French concentration)--He lives in Diggins on our family farm, is the promoter behind our family food truck "The Wheelhouse--Street Fare"; Josh is in the US Army and just moved to Maryland after learning the Afghan language "Pashto" at the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, CA. He is married to Erica (and they have two dachshunds and one Australian Shepherd). My goal is to make the adventure of faith come alive so that my students can experience and extend God's kingdom through their vocational callings and live the adventure as Christ followers.
Other: I love Evangel's emphasis on vocation and calling--Every Christ-follower is called by God to use their gifts to impact their families, jobs, churches, and communities! I play raquetball and do carpentry projects for fun--walk and bike, ride a scooter and read everything in sight!! We moved to an old Amish farm in Diggins, MO this summer--and we're loving the rural life!
