Job Responsibilities: Teacher, Intermediate Spanish 215
Courses Taught: Middle and High School English Elementary and Secondary Spanish Spanish 1 (at CBC)
Publications: Silk Road Stories: Amazing Tales of God's Work in an Ancient Land
Started Work: August, 2013
Favorite Thing About Work: I'm new as a teacher at Evangel, but have always loved all the academic community has to offer in Springfield. It carries over into most aspects of life here, but I think I enjoy it the most in my Evangel Temple Sunday School class!
Was an Evangel Student: 1978-1982
Favorite Memory as a Student: Aside from the time my husband and I first kissed on campus, my favorite Evangel memory would be the spiritual epiphany many of us experienced during a very special CS Lewis class my senior year here. Of course, it's only one of a kazillion such remembrances--not all of them epiphanies and not all of them overtly spiritual--but wonderful, nevertheless.
Originally From: Baytown, TX
Personal Information: I'm a TCK, so I grew up speaking Spanish. My husband and I have served in the Muslim world for over two decades now, but I cut my teeth on life in Pakistan by teaching Spanish there! Spanish is my home place. I love languages, period. I write quite a bit. If I had sufficient time I would obsess over stamp art/crafting, but for now I enjoy tinkering with it. My husband and I have three grown kids, and I'm a goofy new grandma.
Other: My real passion is mission to the unreached. My husband and I served in AGWM's Eurasia region until he was asked to oversee Global Initiative: Reaching Muslim Peoples, with office here in Springfield. I direct Say Hello: Serving Muslim Women.
