Professional Information: Dr. Gregory Morris has performed as soloist, with orchestras, has been featured several times on public radio, and is a former member of MusicaEuropa-- a quintet formed with the members of the Staatskapelle Orchestra of Weimar, Germany.
Reviews of his performances have been very positive. "The performance was brilliant in every way, displaying a dazzling exhibition of technical mastery and of musical judgment; the enormous demands of technique and energy were balanced with an overall sense of form and direction, providing a musical experience which was totally gratifying."
Having grown up as a "preacher's kid," Dr. Morris is equally at home providing solos and sacred concerts in churches. Dr. Morris is a frequent adjudicator, clinician, speaker, and has conducted numerous piano masterclasses and workshops. His presentations at music conferences have included "Reading Mozart's Mail: Insights into the Man & His Music," "Making the Piano Sing," "Keeping Piano Lessons Fun," and "Proper Pedaling."
Dr. Morris is a graduate of Evangel University and earned a Master of Music (Piano Performance) from Texas Christian University. He received the Doctor of Musical Arts (Piano Performance) from the University of North Texas. He has taught at Evangel University since 1999 and is the Adena Seguine Holsinger Faculty Music Chair.
Dr. Morris is married to Sheila (also an EU graduate)and has two children: Sarah and Nick.
