I have retired from teaching as of the spring '13 semester. As I reflect on my 43 years at EU, I have seen many changes on campus--the most obvious being from barracks to state-of-the-art facilities. However, the dedication of the faculty and staff to our students has not changed. Personal attention is often hard to find today, and students say that this makes a big difference to them. Having taught at Western Illinois University, Bowling Green State University, Chaney High School (Youngstown, Ohio), and Turner Junior High School (Warren, Ohio), I appreciate the family atmosphere on our campus. It's a great place both to teach and to learn!

Personal Information:
As a Cleveland Indians and Cleveland Browns fan from birth, I have experienced more than my share of suffering. I enjoy my outdoor fish pond (sans frogs). My gray '87 Mustang GT has been replaced with an '09 dark candy apple red model with license plate "VKC," affectionately dubbed "The Red Pony" in honor of John Steinbeck's classic novel of initiation. In addition, rumor has it that I make to-die-for Hungarian stuffed cabbages and a spaghetti sauce that has healing properties.
