Professional Information: Eric Jackson joined the faculty of Evangel University in Springfield, Missouri and Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, MO in 2009. In addition to his teaching responsibilities, Eric is working to complete a Doctor of Musical Arts degree at The University of Missouri – Kansas City where he studies with Martin Hackleman. His college education began at Missouri State University where he earned the Bachelor of Music degree and later completed a Master of Music degree at The Indiana University Jacobs School of Music.
While most of his time is dedicated to teaching and academic studies, Mr. Jackson is also an active performer in the Kansas City and Springfield region. He currently plays third horn for the Springfield Symphony Orchestra and is a founding member of the Evangel University Brass and Woodwind Quintets. Jackson has performed for numerous community venues including the Springfield Little Theater, the Springfield-Drury Civic Orchestra, and plays every Sunday with the Springfield Second Baptist Church orchestra.
Mr. Jackson has been teaching actively for nearly a decade. His students often win awards in regional and state competitions, and many have continued their education at prestigious music schools where they have been awarded performance scholarships.
Eric has studied with Martin Hackleman, Thomas Bacon, Ellen Campbell, Myron Bloom, Richard Seraphinoff, Richard Todd, Paul Navarro, Lisa Casey, and Donna Johnson.
