  • Academic Info. Christian Studies is "An annotated directory of Internet Resources." It is arranged under broad categories from the Gnostics to modern times. It has a list of "Indexes and General Directories."
  • Catholic Encyclopedia
  • Christianity Today sponsored by the magazine of that name is well regarded. It locates Christian Web sites.
  • Resource Pages for Biblical Studies focusing on the early Christian writings and their social world. It is compiled by Torrey Selund, professor of Biblical Studies, Volda University College. Rich Dupont, Librarian at Emmanuel College, recommends it.

Cross Cultural Evangelism & Missions

  • Directory researchers should type in Missions on the search bar to locate Mission Agencies, Short Term Missions, Long Term Missions, and over 1,100 missions web sites.
  • Global Mapping International states they are "giving Christian leaders access to mission information." GMI is a Christian inter-denominational missionary research agency. Their highest priority is serving evangelical mission ministry leaders in the developing world. The site provides access and annotations to dozens of search engines, etc. arranged by broad categories.
  • SIM: Serving in Mission is the Christian Missions Home Page for SIM and Other Christian Missions. It includes Commercial Sites for Missions and Colleges and Universities with Missions Programs.

  • Religious Movements Homepage at the University of Virginia This beautifully done site includes hundreds of religious movements - their profile, history, beliefs, related links, and a bibliography.
  • Religion on the Web links compiled by Dr. K. C. Hanson. Formerly teaching at the Religion Department of St. Olaf College. It contains links to "Collections of Ancient Documents," "Chonologies of the Ancient World," etc.
  • Virtual Religion Index This site from the Religion Department at Rutgers University is wonderfully up-to-date and comprehensive.
  • Voice of the Shuttle: Religious Studies This directory and portal provide links to the major world religions and sociology of religion. It is maintained by David Liu, et al., at the University of California, Santa Barbara.
