Discussion about the role of mental health professionals in the response through the recovery phases of disasters. It is intended to better "enable you (participants) to provide basic care, comfort, and support to people who are experiencing disaster-related stress." Participants will be instructed on how to "notice the signs of stress in clients (those who have been directly impacted by a disaster), coworkers (fellow volunteers and responders), and yourself; give immediate support to people who may be experiencing stress by implementing the PFA principles; and, to obtain additional mental health support for clients, coworkers, and for yourself, when needed."
