Students who live in one of the residence halls must participate in an approved meal plan that includes an unlimited number of seconds in the Crusader Dining Hall, with the exception of premium entrées. Seconds are not permitted in the Joust. Students may choose from the 20, 15 or 10-meal plan. Only student teachers and upper-class nursing students may be exempt from a meal plan. You may make changes to your meal plan at the beginning of each semester until 3:00 p.m. on Friday of the first full week of classes. After that date you will not be able to make any changes to your meal plan for that semester unless you desire to upgrade to a higher meal plan.
Students on the 20 Meal Plan will receive $75 in free Bonus Bucks on their account following the deadline for making meal plan changes. Bonus Bucks may be used for purchasing Meal Exchange items in the Joust, at the coffee shop, for buying meals for visitors or on items like bottled drinks and snacks from the Joust. Bonus Bucks expire at the end of each semester.
Similar to Bonus Bucks, Crusader Bucks are value-added dollars that may be added to your student account prior to the completion of financial registration in increments of 150, 100 or 50. They will be tax exempt and you will gain an additional amount of purchasing power ($22.50 with 150, $10 with 100 or $5 with 50). Crusader Bucks purchased after school begins will require cash payment unless there is an existing credit on your account to cover the purchase. Crusader Bucks expire at the end of each semester.
Meal-exempt resident students and commuter students have the option of purchasing a block of 75 (average of 5 meals per week) or 45 meals (average of 2.5 meals per week). Block-plan meals may be used at any time during the semester in which they are purchased. Resident students required to be on a regular meal plan may not purchase a block of meals. Block meal plans expire at the end of each semester but a second block plan purchased in the fall semester will roll over to the spring semester.

Your Student ID Card is also your Meal Plan Card. You must have your Student ID Card with you in order to enter the dining hall. Lost Student ID Cards may be replaced at the Public Safety Office located in the Administration Building. Replacement cards are free of charge but you will be required to pay cash for your meals until your card is replaced. Your meal plan is intended for your use only. If you give your Student ID Card to someone else to use, it will be confiscated by the cashier and forwarded to Evangel University administration for appropriate disciplinary action. You will then need to make arrangements with the Evangel University administration to reactivate your card.
