Winter Housing Information

Dear EU Student,

We are pleased to be able to offer the opportunity for Winter Break housing again this year for students who are working or have other special circumstances requiring them to remain in Springfield. This application must be submitted by the yearly-established, early-December deadline along with full payment in order to be considered for approval.

The cost will be a flat rate of $250 (includes non-refundable application fee) for the entire break, regardless of how many nights you stay on campus during that time. You will occupy the room you have reserved for the spring semester.

The fee may not be charged to your student account but if you have an existing credit balance you may use that. The Billing Office will assist you with the transaction.

The same curfew will apply as during the regular semester and you will be required to check out at the Public Safety Office if you leave for the night and to notify that office when you return. Overnight guests will not be permitted.

To alert Evangel Staff workers of your presence you must keep an "OCCUPIED" sign posted on your door at all times when you are present.

There will be no campus services during the break.

(e.g. food, residence life staff, counseling or medical personnel), except for Public Safety. STUDENTS SHOULD CALL THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY WITH ANY QUESTIONS, CONCERNS, OR DIFFICULTIES THAT ARISE AND WILL BE REQUIRED TO MEET WITH THE PUBLIC SAFETY DIRECTOR PRIOR TO BEING APPROVED. Public Safety will be available 24-7 by calling 417-865-2815x7000 or by dialing ext. 7000 from any campus phone. The Department of Public Safety office is located at the north end of Riggs Hall and the exterior entrance is always open.

Be aware that the bathroom door entry to your suitemate’s room will have a special lock on it preventing access during break. Do not attempt to open it.

A parent signature will be required for applicants under the age of 18 as of the end of the fall semester.

When your application and verification forms are complete, take them with full payment to the Housing Office in Riggs 302-C. You will be notified within 48 hours if you are not approved.

Please do not hesitate to let me know if you have any questions.

Kind regards,

Pam Smallwood
Housing Director
